Use Digital Hoard to Catalog your media library including books, music, video games and movies. You can browse your library, tag and catagorize the items within it and share specific items with others. It allows you to lend items from your media collection to friends & coleagues and will keep track of who has borrowed what & when it is due.

To get started, all you need is your PC, Digital Hoard, and a webcam.
Just point your webcam at the barcode on the back of books, music CDs, movie covers, or video games. Digital Hoard will take care of the rest by scanning the barcode, downloading detailed information and the cover graphic image of the item. Digital Hoard uses up to six different databases around the world to extract the right information and cover art.
After cataloging your library, the complete library together with detailed information and cover art as well as the online reviews specific to the items in your library will be at your fingertips. For movies, you will be able to see movie reviews, stars & director bios and other nifty details and trivia available from a movie & entertainment specific source.

Use your webcam or the keyboard to upload your library of books,
music CDs, DVDs and video games into Digital Hoard.
You don’t need a dedicated barcode scanner to import your library into Digital Hoard. All you need is a webcam (with manual focus) to read the barcodes on the back of books, CDs, DVDs and video games.
By holding the barcode in front of the webcam (about 3 inches away) use the manual focus of your webcam to bring the barcode into proper focus. Digital Hoard will scan the barcode using the webcam.
In a matter of seconds, the item just scanned will appear in the appropriate shelf. Digital Hoard uses state of the art image processing technology to capture and decipher every single frame of digital video locating and capturing for decoding any barcodes in the image. This results in a highly successful barcode recognition process, which dramatically increases the rate of import of media items into Digital Hoard.
Alternatively if you do not have a webcam and your library is relatively small, you can use the keyboard to type in the UPC barcode on the back of music CDs, DVDs, and video games. For books you can type in the ISBN number on the back of the book. Once you type in the appropriate UPC barcode or ISBN, the item will automatically appear in the appropriate shelf of Digital Hoard complete with all the details and cover art.
Tagging:
Tag and label your library items according to your own flexible categorization/filing schemes. You can create your own collections with a mix of any books, CDs, DVDs, and video games. Any item can belong to one or more collections based on the tags assigned to the item. This is the most natural and easy method of organizing your library.
Internationalized:
Digital Hoard can download details about scanned or searched items from up to six different sources on the web. These websources are for six different regions of the world including the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany and Japan. Digital Hoard can be used to gather information in various languages including English, French, German and Japanese.
Built-in Help:
The Help menu of Digital Hoard allows you to read more on topics of interest. The built-in Help contains detailed instructions and how-to advice covering the functionality of Digital Hoard.
Webcam Scanning:
Use your Webcam camera to scan in your books, CDs, DVDs, and video games — just hold the barcode on the back of the item up to the camera and it is instantly added to the appropriate shelf in Digital Hoard.
Similars:
Click the similar button while diplaying any item and you will get back a list of similar items. The Similars list of items are recommendations based on the purchases of those with the same tastes as you. This includes items such as books, CDs, DVDs, and video games. You can also buy any recommended item from Amazon.com with just two clicks.
Recommendations:
You can compile your own lists of recommendations based on your chosen interest/subject area that will include books, music, movies and games. You can even publish these recommendations and share them with friends.
Built for Windows:
Designed and developed for Microsoft Windows. Digital Hoard runs on Windows XP. As well it is fully integrated with Microsoft Outlook Express and Windows Media Player as well as Apple's iTunes.
Email Friends:
You can email your friends or collegues the details of any item in your library by selecting the item from your library and then choosing who to send to from your MS Outlook address book. It is all integrated and extremely easy. The cover art image and the details of the item will be included in the message.
Item Checkout:
Use the item Check-out feature to drag and drop your library items on to borrowers set up as per the address book of your Microsoft Outlook. You can extract and set up existing contacts from your address book or create new ones. This feature comes complete with the ability to insert a due date into your Outlook Calender and keep track of Late or Overdue items.
iPod Sync:
Digital Hoard allows you to sync your library to your iPod. After you plug in your iPod, Digital Hoard will automaticaly sync your library to your iPod. This is a great way to take your library with you when going shopping or wherever you go. This feature will be in the next release.
Import:
Digital Hoard can import from comma/tab separated text files. As long as the import file is generated correctly by other programs, Digital Hoard will import the items and store them in their appropriate shelves.
Searching:
The Search field in Digital Hoard can be used to find items that match the search criteria based on the Title, Author, director, stars, etc. This will find and display on the shelf any CDs, games, Books and DVDs matching your search criteria.
Printing:
Printing your Digital Hoard library is extremely easy complete with a great layout including cover images of books, video games, music CDs, and DVDs. This is a great way to take your library with you wherever you wish to.
Web Actions:
If you want to read more details about an item or other items by the same author, OR if you want to know more about the director/actors of a movie then this is the feature which allows you to do all that. It is extremely easy and accessible either by right-clicking on an item or clicking the Web-Actions wheel button. In addition, it allows you to buy and sell new or used items on Amazon as well as access the Internet Movie Database for bios of stars and directors and other trivia.
Amazon User Ratings:
Digital Hoard downloads the ratings Amazon users have given to a given item. The ratings are a good way of knowing what the rest of the world thinks of the item and the ability to sort on that rating.
Cover Browsing:
Digital Hoard uses the concept of a book shelf to display the cover art/images of your books, video games, music CDs and DVDs. This is an aesthetically pleasing way of presenting the library items as it would appear on an actual shelf in a library. In addtition, the library items can be viewed as a list. This is useful if you have a very large collection of various media.
Play Lists:
Digital Hoard supports the import of PlayLists from your favorite media players such as Windows Media Player and Apple's iTunes. Simply import your playlists into Digitial Hoard by selecting the PlayLists and then pressing the "Import" button and Digital Hoard will import the PlayLists and download the Album details and cover images into a shelf specific for each PlayList.
Publish to the Internet:
You can export your library in HTML form so that you can publish it to the internet complete with cover art. The internet version of your library will have a similar look and feel as your desktop library in Digital Hoard. This is an ideal way to share your library with friends and colleagues.
WishList:
You can keep a list of items that are on your WishList to acquire in the future. Digital Hoard will keep the complete details of thee items as well as prices for New and Used versions of the item. This list can be printed and you can take it with you for comparison shopping.
