It is a great way to reference your library and keep track of what you own. It makes it easy to keep detailed descriptions of your library items, wish list, playlists, and recommendation lists which you can then share with others.

To get started, all you need is your PC, Digital Hoard, and a webcam.

And the beauty of Digital Hoard is that it implements a very very thorough set of features in such a way that makes Digital Hoard fun to use.

Using Digital Hoard you will be able to import your playlists from iTunes and Windows Media Player into your Digital Hoard library complete with album cover art, album descriptions and track details.  You can then choose to share these play lists with friends.

Digital Hoard can export your media library in HTML format to the internet. This makes it extremely easy to put up your library online on a website or personal blog.

Use your webcam or the keyboard to upload your library of books,
music CDs, DVDs and video games into Digital Hoard.

You don’t need a dedicated barcode scanner to import your library into Digital
Hoard.  All you need is a webcam (with manual focus) to read the barcodes on
the back of books, CDs, DVDs and video games.

By holding the barcode in front of the webcam (about 3 inches away) use the manual focus of your webcam to bring the barcode into proper focus. Digital Hoard will scan the barcode using the webcam.
In a matter of seconds, the item just scanned will appear in the appropriate shelf.  Digital Hoard uses state of the art image processing technology to capture and decipher every single frame of digital video locating and capturing for decoding any barcodes in the image.  This results in a highly successful barcode recognition process, which dramatically increases the rate of import of media items into Digital Hoard.
Alternatively if you do not have a webcam and your library is relatively small, you can use the keyboard to type in the UPC barcode on the back of music CDs, DVDs, and video games.  For books you can type in the ISBN number on the back of the book.  Once you type in the appropriate UPC barcode or ISBN, the item will automatically appear in the appropriate shelf of Digital Hoard complete with all the details and cover art.
